Who are We?
IECA, formed by the Ileje District community in Songwe Region, is an environmental NGO focused on uniting villagers for sustainable environmental conservation. Established in 2004, it's registered under the NGOs Act of 2002 and the revised Act of 2019 with Certificate No. 00NGO/R2/00040.

What do we do?
Our expertise extends to consultancy and research, where we have been pivotal in conducting community sensitization, baseline surveys, and developing community adaptation plans.
Through various projects, we have provided technical consultancy services for water supply, facilitated training on WASH governance, and conducted household surveys on sustainable sanitation.
At IECA, our goal is to create lasting change by addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable practices. Our projects, backed by global organizations and governments, are a testament to our dedication and impact in the Tanzanian community.
Recognizing the potential of youth, women and people with disabilities, we launched the initiatives that focus on economic empowerment in agribusiness, business development skills, entrepreneurship and VSLA which designed to offer youth choices and pave a pathway to fulfill their economic dreams and workforce readiness skills, leadership and engagement in community programs to enhance young generation life skills for their health living. to our commitment
We take pride in our involvement in environmental conservation through implementation of various programs grounded on climate resilience, community forestry resources management, and smart agriculture and beekeeping programs in collaborative with donors and government of Tanzania through local government authorities.
Our WASH interventions have reached numerous districts, including Iringa and Mufindi, where we have contributed to improving sanitation and hygiene behaviors.
We have also undertaken the establishment and strengthening of Community Owned Water Supply Organizations (COWSO) in multiple districts.
Our dedication to promoting hygiene is evident through our numerous programs, including hand washing training in Kibaha District and school WASH interventions in Njombe.
